So, here she is 508er’s! Gretchen Sharfman is our first highlighted Athlete of the Quarter.
Gretchen is 50 years od, married to her husband Nelson and has 2 children. Her son, Taylor, comes to 508 on his college breaks from UMASS. Her daughter Skyler, a former teen 508er, now plays hockey as a freshman at St. Paul’s High School in New Hampshire.
During the day, Gretchen is a VP of supply chain for a manufacturing company in Randolf. At night, she is either crushing it at 508 or on the ice herself playing hockey.
Gretchen has been at 508 for about 5 years. She loves deadlifts and using the big 45# plates. Her least favorite movement is Overhead Squats due to a reconstructed shoulder. Gretchen loves the community at 508. She is inspired everyday by the people and coaches that all work hard while supporting each other. She not only loves this encouraging environment but also the satisfaction of the “good’ pain after a WOD (workout of the day).
Gretchen continues to surprise herself even after all this time. She is highly motivated to move and strives each to be a better version of herself. She does not want to remember a time before Crossfit.
These are all the reasons why Gretchen is the perfect choice for our first highlighted member.
